Ken - as I've observed in several previous posts....frozen water pipes are one thing.... the real headaches begin when pipes which have frozen -- and burst, thaw.

They would have done much better to have scheduled this y2k thing for early spring.... no danger from freezing tempertures, longer daylight, wamer weather ahead, people generally in a better mood, high power demand for air conditioning not yet in effect, ect.

Having this thing occur in the dead of winter with several weeks of winter ahead of it shows just how poorly this whole thing was thought out.
