Air Methods to Announce Detailed FY99 Plan to Include 4Q98 Update and New Corporate Developments

DENVER, Dec. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Air Methods Corporation (Nasdaq: AIRM) reported that it would announce detailed plans on January 19 for fiscal 1999, updates on the fourth quarter and fiscal year ending December 31, 1998, and a number of significant corporate developments that will expand operations.

George Belsey, Chairman and CEO, said that the announcement would review:

-- Existing operations including Flight Services, Mercy Air and the

Products Division;

-- Contracts to retrofit as many as 370 U.S. Army BlackHawk helicopters

with new medical technology over the next 15-20 years and to develop a

new critical care transportation system (SCITS) under a $9 million

contract for the Air Force;

-- Short and long term growth potential for the Company; and,

-- Other issues related to shareholder value.

Mr. Belsey explained that the forthcoming announcement is the first time that Air Methods will disclose such an extensive operating and financial plan to the investment community. He said the plan was the direct result of an expanded forecasting process initiated in the fourth quarter of 1998.
