Advanced Engine Technologies Inc. (OTCBB: AENG) might be attractive to the folks who invested in B.A.T. International (OTCBB: BAAT). Like B.A.T., Advanced Engine Technologies claims to have the next generation of automotive technology. Perhaps. But at this point, the company is grossly over-valued with a market cap of more than $381 million. Huh? A tight float -only 2 million of the company's 21.5 million shares outstanding are available - has allowed a few unknowns to push the price of this stock to almost $30 per share in the past month. It has since backed off somewhat, but still trades in the high teens, a tad much for a company with no track record, no apparent profit, an unproven product and no filings with the SEC, save for the lengthy list of recent insider trades. Since Jan. 1, more than 20 insider trades have been recorded, totaling almost 2 million shares - almost the entire float. Stock promotion is another murky area for the company. Advanced Engine Technologies was featured recently on the Emerging Company Report, a television infomercial which companies pay to get on. No stock is involved in the cash-only deal so, technically, Emerging Company Report has no stake in how the featured companies perform.
