I thought some of the technicals of the discussion could be appreciated by others.

I'll clarify that I suggested that - even allowing for NT/Unix based OSS servers (ie., NOT electromagnetic armatures), that access to the separate OSS server was NOT nearly as vulnerable to rogue data as are the data switches which carry data-voice directly on the data network. OSS servers don't carry public-originated/accessible data and are also not WAN'd, (though maybe MAN'd) so that rogue data (programs) would be far less likely to infect a circuit-switched network.
