Hi- I love capitalism but I hate cronism..socialism can't work..competition works..but monopolies take one back to the feudal ages..Orwell's animal farm..(couldn't resist) all animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others.. Greenspan's and rubin's policies have stacked the deck..to me that is cheating big time..and although they might want US companies to control the world's economies..it will smash us in the end.. Reagan helped to drive the Russians into bankruptcy..so look what happened..a few multibillionaires,a lot of gangsters and the people who are stuck there might have their freedom..but food is more important?(although my self destructive streak still screams..it is principles that really count..wherever you go there you are :-) I am certain you worked extremely hard to get to where you are going without cheating..that is fantastic and the way I like capitalism.. I don't feel sorry for someone who doesn't have your intelligence or abilities because they have their place too..they probably also don't have to work so very hard and carry so much responsibility..(although my friend Im..who was captain of a trowler in Korea is working seven days a week 12 hours a day..eeeeeks..) I think it is the consumer who drives economies and it is very poor economics if one destroys the third world consumers..eventually that is how revolutions and deaths result..also the way inflation is counted is bizarre..how many fixed income pensioners etc who have worked so hard and who probably fought in wars for the US are getting screwed by ss and pension increases..(a friend said they are getting more than they put in..I said if you calculate what the money was worth then to what it is worth now..they may not be making out like bandits..) how is that.. bobby a lover of capitalism without cronism..socialism will always fail..(although it does appear to provide some sense of security)
