In Japan, about 70% of the patents are not workable. Here in this country, it is not that difficult to get a patent as long as the company supports it.

I agree. At the JPO, or Japanese Patent Office, it is much easier to get a patent than in either the USPTO or EPO. However, it is getting much easier to receive a patent at the USPTO.

There is an un-official saying that only 1-3% of all US Patents are worth anything.
