Daniel and Thread,

I received my Pontis mp3 player yesterday along with a pre-recorded classic guitar ROS ("recorded on silicon" ROM card) and two 8 MB SanDisk MMC's. How the hell do they fit 8MB on a small card the size of a postage stamp? The card is very light and actually looks like it is made of cardboard except for the hot shoe connectors. It actually looks quite a bit like the SmartMedia card, but it is slightly thicker. Pontis stated that 32 MB cards will be available this Spring. My player has two MMC slots, so the total capacity is 16 MB. I downloaded the software onto my Dad's laptop and have transferred several recordings from the CD that came with the player onto the MMC's using a serial connection.

Without doubt the sound is CD quality. The device will run 10 hours on 2 AA batteries.

It really is more of a novelty item at this point. Hope that it catches on.
