Beyond.com Expands Its Online Mac Store for the Holidays

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 22, 1998--Online software superstore Beyond.com(TM) (Nasdaq:BYND) today announced it has remodeled and expanded its online Mac software superstore to feature more than 2,000 Mac software titles, many of which can be digitally downloaded directly to a computer.

Other features of the Beyond.com Mac site include:

-- Reviews and Recommendations of popular Mac software.

-- A Games Center built by gamers for gamers.

-- Staff Picks from the folks at Beyond.com.

-- Customer Ratings on hundreds of Mac software titles.

-- An easily navigated site that lets shoppers browse through eleven categories, including Games, Graphics, Hobbies, Internet and Utilities, to name a few examples.

-- Digitally downloadable software gifts that let procrastinators buy as late as Christmas day often for same-day delivery, depending on the size of the title.

"Beyond.com is extra valuable to Mac users because they're under served in the world of retail," said Brian Sroub, vice-president of marketing at Beyond.com. For the convenience of Mac owners, the Beyond.com web site at beyond.com recognizes Mac users and displays only Mac titles to them, although other platforms are just a click away.
