wb, I think in lieu of birth certificates, which few people carry, a voter registration card is the best proof of citizenship. I go to Canada occasionally and I have more trouble getting my boarding pass at the airport in Newark from airline agents who insist I must have a passport, than getting into or out of Canada. I've never even been asked for anything that I can remember. Can't imagine Mexico being much different. As for the insurance, just make sure whoever their carrier is will cover them while in Mexico. If it seems light in coverage, most companies offer short term addons for just occasions. Hope they have a good time. Chuck
