Thomas, couldn't help breaking my normal silent lurking;

Ummmm a one week loop through KL and BKK ? Sounds nice other than hanging in the sky on the upwind leg to Hong Kong, or do you get to go direct ? I used to do a route that included Cebu, Singapore, Malacca, Penang, Bangkok and Tokyo. I'd go out for about three weeks once a quarter, two or three days a stop, always tried to finagle weekends and extra pass-throughs in BKK, sometimes these worked...many a story there.

One time I was moving a computer from Singapore to a test floor in Ikebukuro near Tokyo. I was at it late one night bringing it up and finishing off the work to avoid next morning having to come back. A couple of the swing shift test ops were rather attractive looking, and one thing leading to another, I found out they were Chinese and hungry! Of course all their Japanese male friends had put head trips on them telling them how much more attractive Japanese girls were and I have an eye for Chinese, etc, anyway four of us, on my credit card ended up having a wonderful late evening sushi bash and ended up in a Kareoke club...Now if anyone had a clue as to what my limited vocalizations sounded like you'd be cringing already just at the thought, but the audio systems those bars possess are simply unbelievable or was that just the wine singing ? I do remember stumbling back to my hotel room as dawn was happening, wondering if I should care about missing a flight that day. Oh, but the ccard took a beating on that one.

The best way to beat the Bangkok traffic, is to get out of the taxi, and flag down the next motor bike. If you think Tuk Tuk drivers have an attitude, wait till you're on the back of a Suzuki briefcase in hand...For 10 Bhatt you can do one end of Sukhumvit to the other in minutes, no problem, as they say, just got to know which Soi you want...if in doubt, I always said Soi Nana, and was never disappointed!

(All sorts of feelings in there, just have to sift in between the lines). Now back to lurkmode.
