KANATA, Ont. -- Newbridge Networks Corp. (NN) said Telus Advanced Communications will use Newbridge's comprehensive Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line, or ADSL, solution for its portfolio of DSL-enabled services.
In a news release, Newbridge said its MainStreet ADSL products and management software comprise the foundation for the Telus DSL service portfolio. It said Telus Advanced Communications will immediately deploy 4,000 ADSL lines at 41 sites in Alberta. This number will expand to more than 10,000 lines within the next year, it said.
The value of the agreement to Newbridge wasn't disclosed.
Newbridge said its solution enables Telus to offer a broad range of value-added services, such as local area network-to-local area network interconnect, consumer and business Internet access, teleworking services, and wholesale Internet service provider high-speed Internet access.
Telus Advanced Communications is owned by Telus Corp. (T.T), a telecommunications company.
