Telco's have very little incentive to push DSL, while
cable providers have almost every reason to provide
cable modem services to get into the internet and telephony
services.

Now telco's have to move to offer DSL, only due to potential
threat from cable modem. If there were no cable modem
access available, I bet deployment of DSL would have
been more behind. Very little to do w/ each tech.
