Still better late than never!! You should think about using a broker that offers real-time direct execution from your PC. I use CyBerBroker cyber-brokerage.com and can usually trade (and get confirmed) instantly at the price I see in front of me. At about $20/trade these types of brokers "cost" a little more than an online broker at under $10, but these online brokers never publicize the other costs associated with trades made through them - like the extra cost due to worse price fill - even a 1/16 saving on a 1,000 share order means $62.50 - loss due to execution delay, etc!
