In terms of selective morality. I think that any president of any race, color, creed, party who has any kind of sex in the oval office has committed an offense against his office and the nation. Again, no one has confirmed that Eisenhower had any kind of sex with Ms. Summersby and it surely was not in the oval office. The circumstances between Clinton and Eisenhower were completly different. Eisenhower was in europe for multiple years and trying to manage the most massive war effort in history. You mention that Bill had similar stress? No comparison. Bill had a very ordinary presidency in ordinary times. Had D Day failed tens of thousands of allied solders would have died because of Einsenhower's mistake(s). The General had a close female friend and some speculate that he may have had sex with her. If he did have sex with her it was not a good idea, but the circumstances were especially unique. If Bill would have had an affiar with Barbara Striesand in the Ritz on the west coast, it is none of my business. Barbara would be his equal, non employee, and it would not be in the oval office. Bill took cunning advantage of a young woman and completly maniuplated her to do his thing with her sexually and he did it in the oval office. Sorry, but the president of the US cannot misbehave in the oval office or misbehave in general. No drug use, can't run a betting parlor, can't get drunk, no gang bangs, no sex with animals, no child porn, etc. etc.in the oval office. US presidents all know the rules and misbehave at their own peril. |
