Straight Up, It certainly can't hurt to write Dr. Markman about your and our frustration. I wouldn't be too optimistic, though, about its immediate impact.
In my conversations with the company over the course of the last year a couple of things have become apparent to me:
It is true that many of the company employees have options at prices well above today's price. Many of them were hired late this spring through the summer. The longer term employees are not faced with the problem to the same degree. They all appear, however, to be very upbeat about the company.
The company does not have the right to say much more than they are currently saying about their deals. The restrictions go as far as Qwest not allowing GMGC to report in the press release the date of trials commencing. The company was not prohibited from speaking about the start date on their own, which is why Dr. Markman so quickly wrote another Memo From Markman.
The company has a policy of not reading these message boards. That is not to say that some don't privately do it, but it is their policy.
The company is acutely aware of the current shareholder frustration through feedback from their IR department, but must balance this with their long term business interests. They are a small fish negotiating with much more established companies, and without a product that has a proven return on investment. As these deals mature GMGC will have more leverage both for financial structure and for controlling the pace of information flow.
The current price slide is very frustrating. It reminds me of this time last year. I really believe that over the next few months GMGC will be able to put forth meaningful information which will bring it back onto the radar screens of a much larger audience. It is taking longer than I had hoped, but the company continues to execute in a sensible and focused manner, imho.
BTW, I don't pretend to have any inside knowledge. Everything I am saying about the company can be verified by contacting the company.
Best wishes to all believers in the magic, especially during the current disappearing act that is occurring.
Seconds Out.
