<The Celeron 300MHz currently sells for around $140, but was expected to drop to $93 on Jan. 4.>

That's quoted from Edwin's URL. But would the tax benefits of a Section 179 (?) write-off in 1998 recommend a purchase now or wait until Jan 4? Will more prices drop in January? If not, buy everything except the CPU in 1998, buy the chip after the price drop? Have any of the faster Celerons shown anything like the OC-ability of the 300a?

Edwin, looks like a very nice setup. Don't personally know about the IBM drive, but don't see any big heat spots in what you have spec'ed out so far. Keep an eye on the Video card: you may want to measure actual temperature and, if possible, leave the slot next to it free for potential use by one of those PCI slot fans.
