..........Over the past half decade, as impresario of the fabled Demo conference each February, Coursey, 37, emerged as a larger-and-louder-than-life persona whose whims and words could seal the fate of a half-cooked startup hoping to be discovered by the world. Last year, though, Coursey fell out with the show's owner, InfoWorld, and somebody else ran this year's Demo. Now, Coursey is trying to recapture the old magic -- and influence -- with his new product-demonstration event, Internet Showcase in San Diego. It's sponsored by his new patron, Upside Magazine.
