well what do you think now this is very impressive..
JANUARY 22, 1997 International Larder Minerals Inc. - Exploration Update TORONTO, ONTARIO-- ALDER POND PROJECT - Maine, USA International Larder Minerals Inc. ("Larder") is pleased to announce the following drill hole results from its optioned, jointly held Alder Pond base metal prospect in Somerset County, northern Maine, U.S.A. The Company, in joint venture with Prospector's Alliance Corp. ("PALL") has an option to earn a 50 percent interest in the 1,796 acre property with Larder providing the initial funding. Assays from split drill core have been received from nine recently completed vertical holes (nos. 102 to 110 inclusive) designed to outline additional drill indicated geological reserves in the Main Zone extending out from previously drill indicated reserves of 243,000 tons averaging 18.5 percent zinc, 1.0 percent lead and 3.5 percent copper. The following is a tabulation of significant results received from five holes surrounding the above drill indicated reserves where drill inferred reserves were previously indicated totalling 230,000 tons averaging similar grades. /T/ Hole Interval Width Percent Percent Percent Silver No. (ft) (ft) Zinc Lead Copper oz/t 102 104.2-231.4 127.2 2.73 0.26 0.79 0.90 104 224.0-234.0 10.0 3.31 0.45 0.52 0.86 107 221.0-300.0 79.0 4.83 0.61 1.98 1.23 350.0-366.8 16.8 4.57 0.17 1.67 0.68 109 198.0-295.8 97.8 16.95 0.81 4.58 4.04 110 267.4-269.6 2.2 6.83 1.47 2.00 2.45 284.0-344.0 60.0 11.68 0.58 2.73 1.45 /T/ Gold assays for the above intersections are pending. Drill holes no. 105 and 106 tested a geological target 400 feet northwest of the Main Zone without success and drill holes no. 103 and 108 which did not intersect any significant mineralization have partially delineated the Main Zone to the southwest and northeast respectively. Drilling to date by the Larder/PALL joint venture, including previously announced favourable results from drill holes no. 100 and 101 have supported and increased the geological reserves of drill indicated and inferred reserves totalling 473,000 tons averaging 18.5 percent zinc, 1 percent lead and 3.5 percent copper compiled by the previous owners. The Main Zone remains open up dip and down dip along the undulating, flat northwesterly dipping old paleosurface now marked by an Andesite-Rhyolite volcanic contact. The stratabound, VMS (Volcanic Massive Sulphide) deposit is being further tested with vertical holes for significant extensions outwards from its presently known horizontal dimensions of 500 feet along its northeast-southwest axis by its maximum northwest-southeast width of 150 feet as indicated in drilling to date. The present drilling program consists of completing the vertical drill holes, 50 feet apart, along northwest-southeast oriented, 100 foot spaced section lines over the Main Zone. The variable widths and grades being encountered to date are a result of the extreme irregularity of the deposit's shape and its position along the old paleosurface which is difficult to predict prior to drilling. -30-
