Lynn, I totally agree with what you said again. (I actually purchased products from both Dell and Compaq web sites as I mentioned in my previous posting.) I appreciate that you are willing to take more trouble than I to help them. (I started to complain about their web site over a year ago, sent 3 feedback messages one way or another, 2 of which was complaining about their product show case page which has more details about the product does not have links to the online ordering page and vice verse, which I mentioned here too.)

I think that the problem of their web site reflects this particular department (or others)'s lack of heart and drive to do a better job that they are hired to do! Their web pages are just move obvious for us to see their flaws. They had plenty of time to catch up and to do it better before now. They need a better leadership who posses both technical insights and business drive, or even just some common sense in how to compete with a strong competitor such as Dell who has been doing everything right. They might have thought they are already doing a pretty good job but they shouldn't wait for you and me to complain or the market result to let them know that they need to do a much better job. Am I wrong to feel that where Dell and Compaq are directly competing, Dell seems to be a lot smarter, even their magazine ad is easier to read with MORE useful with FEWER pages than Compaq's on the same news magazine I subscribe. It lets you wonder if their people have higher IQ or they just put more mind to seek their success than just to do a OK job. How do you solve that problem? Send feedback to their web master definitely didn't help.
