David, I personally don't think that is a solution.

You piss someone off by exposing him / her, if they know a little about computers and now your IP address is public (While you are on line), you may find your now being attacked, denial of service, machine crashed, etc. If you have file sharing turned on, easy access to your computer.

Most dial-up ISP's have thousands of IP addresses, so if someone posts then logs off, then back on, he receives a new IP address.

If that was the case (we all had to expose our IP address to everyone on SI, while we were connected) then we should all be running firewalls.

SI could always come up with another way to police postings??

There really is no way to stop these con artists. Common sense has to prevail. You know the old saying, If it's too good to be true.....you know the rest.
