In what way has the president gotten away with lying. He has not yet had an actual trial. What is the punishment for lying? Remember he has not had a trial so he should not yet have suffered any legal punishment. So what is the proper punishment for lying? He has endured the humiliation of having to admit his lie in public. That is a form of punishment. Should he lose his job? Should all liars lose there jobs? What kinds of lies shall we include in the "job losing" category? A slippery slope for sure. I personally don't think he should lose his job for these lies. I think he should be tried right after he leaves office for criminal perjury. I belive this even though I am pro Clinton, no man is above the law. What many people forget is the hearings in the house and senate are not about jail time, they are not a criminal proceeding. They are about whether we should fire the president. By heading further down this path we hurt all of america because it takes focus away from important matters that effect us all. Health care, education, social security. For the greater good this issue should be dropped. And I repeat, once out of office, try him for criminal perjury. Try him when the only person who could get hurt is Clinton. I also personally believe he will beat the charges. He is a savvy man when it comes to the law and he knew that Starr was gunning for him and I'll bet he knew everything Starr knew and answered the questions in as grey a possible way so as to assure legal perjury did not ocurr. They have harrassed this president in a way I hope I never see again. jb
