Trev: He and others like him are shroud investors who make money. Think about it; WSP is trading at 50 cents months ago and he is approached by the "Vancouver boys " who know, as you said, he is willing to take a position in a play. He buys on the market 900,000 shares or more to get the price up. With the help of many brokers (this play has any broker involved that has anything to do with the resource sector!) the price keeps increasing as the story evolves, and a good story it is (that hopefully will have a happy ending for all). Then, when the stock is above $2 a private placement is announced of which he is the principal. With the brokers on side and the public starting to really like the play, the stock is over $3 with little more facts than when the story was evolving in the fall. So a smart investor simply locks in his profit knowing all the angles are covered. This is commonly done and all small investors should be aware of the scenario. NO I am certainly not "scaring myself with shadows", rather just pointing out what sophisticated investors do in these plays. I nice tax write down as well since it is a flow-through share offering.
