Didn't quite trust it as a pattern until today. Needed more date to know whether or not it was fluke. The strong close todays suggests another good day, although I would expect, because of short session, that after about 10:30 to 11:00, volume will die out just because everyone has gone home. After a strong start, I would expect there to be some profit-taking as the morning goes on with people locking in gains before Christmas and vacations. On the other hand, due to the fact that all of this has happened so late in the year, and there is so much to anticipate right after the new year, and given the tax consequences of profit-taking in the last week of the year, smart money may hold through the next week, even if this sits (relative to its late performance), in anticipation of the end of the quiet period and to avoid having to pay taxes immediately on short term capital gains. My guess is that it will end higher, but not as significantly as the last three sessions. But, you never know. SHG
