The usps found that the emod system generated significant savings in time and money for the USPS This was deemed to be due to lower cost of money order issuance, management relating thereto, and the systems ability to electronically transfer daily accounting information to regional headquarters, lowering administrative and accounting costs accordingly/

Also, usps subsequently asked the CBC to bid th costs of making a software change to the EMOD that allowed otherprinters to utilized w/ the EB921 control terminal and submitted a bid in June 1998. Final permission to proceed was received form the USPS in Dec 1998 (how interesting) It will be tested for a period of two to three months after delivery of the modified system(in 2nd fiscal qtr) at which time the USPS is expected to make a decision on promoting the EMOD program on a national scale.
