AOLs addition to the SP500 may not have much immediate impact. Many of the mutual fund companies have dozens or hundreds of funds and may simply move the stock from one type of fund (Aggressive growth, technology, etc.) into their index fund without really impacting the market. I don't think they have to go through the market, but if they do, they can just put in parallel stop orders for large blocks at the same price and stipulate that it must be sold/bought as a block. Comments anyone?
