Chuzzlewit....Welcome to the AOL Board!...I know you from the DELL Board and know if you begin to follow AOL like you have followed DELL we ALL will benefit from your observations here...Good to have you aboard and if you have bought into AOL I believe you will be a long-term holder of this fine company...I fully expect AOL to "grow" your capital like not too many companies will....It was reported today that AOL's growth for the last 52 weeks has been 600%!...Like DELL in the early Hyper-growth phase we will see some phenomenal growth for awhile..I'm thinking several hundred percent per year for 2-4 years anyway, then I'm not sure after that...
It's got Everything going for it....1)It's in the hottest sector of the Market right now, and will be for some time to come..This is an industry beginning to come into it's own, with many more possibilities ahead....2) A subscriber base of over 14 Million and growing....3)AOL has dominating "Reach" (with NSCP a reach of over 70% of the entire Internet, with little overlap in those two sets of company "eyeballs", according to Media Metrix) which will bring in the advertising dollars, a lot of those agreements are revenue sharing as well as "rent", or ad space....4)Many excellent strategic partnerships, internationally and nationally, of which the most recent one was DELL....5)It's just been added to the S&P 500 "ligitimizing" the sector, and certainly the company--The Internet's first Blue Chip company (I saw an interview today w/ a director in the S&P company who acknowledged the P/E was high but when it came before the Board for a vote they felt it had such forward potential that it was either "justified" or irrelevant, I'm not sure which.)....Internet Analyst Keith Benjamin from Robertson Stephens and others say Multiple Broadband access deals with Cable and ISD companies are just around the corner, possibly even before the end of this year he says, and certainly not long from now.....It's got the wind at it's back, like Steve Case said recently...And so does every AOL shareholder as far as I can see.
Again welcome to the AOL board and AOL.
Regards, George
