A repost from AOL's Motley Fool PFEr Board:

Dr. Ben <<*BigK. I feel like I am on the PFE plantation. The guy apparently has never made a bad investment in his life. Come on. He is not 100% in PFE and we shouldn't be either. I say come clean and give us a portfolio and let us get rich together. If PFE crashes we can still make out that way. You have to be diversified. I shared with you Lucent at 68, look at it now, 100 something. There was money to be made in '98, I tell you. Big K, toss us some bones so that we can diversify. We have lives and can't spend all week pouring over this stuff. >>

Dr. B: My biggest tip is for you to retire from medicine and take up writing full-time! You are really talented....especially when PFE is headed higher!!!

Here are some of my 1998 winners, non-winners and losers ....written in a tribute to the Dr. B style:

Winners

PFE - What a surprise! I have held this stock for 26 years...the last 5 have been quite a ride

MSFT- Ok, it's a monopoly but Mr. Bill has done more to improve productivity since the Wright Brothers and Henry Ford. Use the Peabody Model and buy this stock anytime it declines 10-15% off its high.

AOL- The reason we are on this board. Up 134% since October...this October. Kids and adults agree it is the best gateway to the Net.

CSCO- A true Internet play that is profitable...seems to split 3 for 2 at least twice a year.

MRK- A great research Pharma and a fan of the institutions

TOM- Business casual is the wave of the future...I Peter Lynched this one @ 35.13.

WLA- As Lipitor brings down cholesterol, WLA keeps rising.

ICOS- Highlighted in the 3/14/98 Big Pharma Report @ 13 3/8.. Has doubled to today's close of 27. A better Viagra play than PFE!!!

INTC- Another quality techie

LU- Quality management and growth

DELL- Bought during the October slump (+30.9%)

ORCL- I don't have a clue what they do...but the stock keeps going up..so I don't care!

SBL- They make those laser machines at checkout counts...Check this stock out!

COMS- Bought during a stock dive...Palm Pilots are wonderful.

AMGN- Currently, this year's Big Pharma leader. Company only believes in billion dollar products.

Non-Winners and Losers

ELY: Loved the golf clubs but got a Big Bertha case of the Asian flu...A violation of my tip #3 (see below).

CA: #2 to MSFT but still struggling to show 1998 growth

DIS: After a decline, I thought this stock would be easy as ABC...wrong!

KO: Stock growth is fizzling this year.

Recent Buys

MTC: Will move with Celebrex and possible takeover rumors

SLB: A quality stock that recently hit a low.

My basic investing tips:

-Buy quality companies that have quality management and great products that generate consistent earnings.

-Purchase quality stocks during market downturns (Peabody Valleys)

-Cut your losses on declining stocks...Never double-down

-Make your own decisions...many posters on investment boards do not have a clue about investing and Pharma. They will tout their stocks down to zero in the hope that others can feel the pain of their losses...Newbies beware check out the track record of your gurus!!!

-Take long positions and never short.

OK, PFErs care to share your winners & losers and investing tips?
