abraves,
Weekday Trader column had a piece about the winners and losers that they had predicted on early in the year.......

"... But Oy, Did We Get Some Wrong!"

"But when you focus on valuation, as we do, you can run into trouble being skeptical of great companies whose stock prices look high -- especially in this kind of market. Exhibit A: Cisco Systems. Perhaps showing more guts than brains, we wondered early in the year whether this stock's bubble would burst due to intense competition, the Asian flu and slowing growth in networking ("Bellwether No Longer? Cisco Lags Its Elite Peers," February 24). No way. Cisco shares have since doubled in value to close at 93 13/16 Tuesday. Someday this juggernaut -- the dominant hardware play on the growth of the Internet -- may slow down. But we won't hazard a guess when.

Ditto for Dell Computer. Since we first cast a critical eye on Dell on May 21, the stock has soared by two-thirds, to close at 71 7/8 Tuesday. "Can Dell Really Do No Wrong?," our story asked. Well, apparently it can't. One thing we can be proud of: we didn't do critical pieces on Intel or Microsoft. Discretion is indeed the better part of valor."

Hope this helps.....

Jay
