dlc, I'm sorry you had such a bad experience with CTSL. If you use it as a source of ideas that need to be tested, I think you might find the service useful. I certainly do. Lately, MM has been very right on the direction of PC sales (up) and got you and any other subscriber who listened got into the group early. His worst errors come from (1) not cutting his losses, but you can cut yours when he picks a bummer; and (2) trying to catch falling knives. You don't have to follow him into these and can watch until they do form bottoms.
