They already determined it is much smarter to be together rather than separate. If they are separate they will margin each other out of business (like they were!)

One poster (possibly here but maybe on Yahoo) said he dated a chick who worked at NTKI and they already are calling themselves CDNow and are wearing CD Now badges.

I have been through a few mergers and 1/1/99 is a likely target for accounting reasons, otherwise dual paperwork for 99 which is dreadful. I'd hope to see a news release on this soon.
