Quadrax to Introduce New Hockey Stick Shafts at CSGA's Montreal International Sports Exhibition (MISE)
PORTSMOUTH, R.I., Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Quadrax Corp announced today that it plans to introduce a new hockey stick shaft at the Canadian Sporting Goods Association's upcoming MISE show in Montreal, which begins January 26th. The shafts are being marketed to OEM assemblers of hockey sticks, as well as to specialty hockey and full-line sporting goods stores. The shaft is unique to Quadrax and offers advantages over other shafts.
Quadrax's proprietary thermoplastic composite material has been used for the new stick shaft (the TP10). At 300 grams, this shaft is one of the lightest on the market. However, because of its nylon matrix, it is also the most durable in its class. In a falling-weight, impact test, Quadrax's TP10 was twice as strong as other ultra light shafts. When compared with shafts made from other materials, thermoplastic composite shafts provide better feel and dampening effect, transmitting more energy accurately to the puck without the vibration and shock to the player.
David Evans, Product Manager for hockey, said, "These shafts are the culmination of an intense product development program over the past year. They represent a solid foundation upon which we can build and expand our line. The technology of these shafts will enable us to introduce new shaft designs with more features beneficial to players, and maintain the high value we currently have."
James J. Palermo, Chairman and Chief Executive of Quadrax Corporation, added, "Extensively tested by players both on ice and on deck, this shaft represents our entry into a market of over seven million players in the North America. We are optimistic that the expansion of this product line will help us capture a significant portion of this market.(A)"
Quadrax Corporation produces thermoplastic composite materials using its proprietary fabrication and manufacturing processes for a wide range of high- performance commercial and consumer products.
