Adding this one to Diablo 2 might push some new board purchases from the strategy game crowd i.e. Starcraft, warcraft, age of empires, etc. Joe C.
yep, i jumped on the voodoo bandwagon because of Myth 1 =). Myth 2 is pretty amazing, better graphics than the first, AI is much much better (actually appears to attack with some strategy this time), but gameplay is nothing new. Just waiting for enough people to get the demo to start some 16 player internet action.
Personally, i never really caught on with the whole FPS, deathmatch thing. it's fun and all but doesn't have the thrill associated with locking huge armies/navies/air forces in strategic battle. Show me a good RTS game and i'll show you how quickly a starving student can scrape together $300 for game plus video card =). Sadly however, the RTS world is still largely 2D (with the exception of Myth). But next year, things are going to be different. Homeworld (sierra) is going to be HUGE. If Homeworld doesn't sell 3D cards, i don't know what will (did i mention that it will be HUGE?). Dark Reign 2 (activision) will come out sometime next year, has a brand new 3D engine that i hear is pretty amazing. Total Annihilation also is rumored to have a 3D engine in the works but don't know too much about that (btw didn't like TA1, thought DR1 was much better).
just thought i would add some input from a RTS fan, since this board seems to be full of FPS fanatics =). Merry X-mas everybody, and i hope everyone here will wake up to a brand new V2 SLI bundle with all the latest games ( mom, i hope you're reading this !! )
