Here's more on the BioLogon suite from IDT from Newsbytes, as previously noted in Steve's post:

"According to company officials, the new family of biometric
software includes: BioLogon 2.0 -- an enterprise software package with
authentication replacing the password; BioShield -- allows users to protect any application using a fingerprint ID mechanism; BioCrypt -- a password protected application can be configured by BioCrypt to recall a password and insert it automatically into an application when a user's fingerprint is verified; and, BioCard -- combining the use of a smart card with fingerprint ID protection, it creates a closed loop security system by storing encrypted data on a smart card."

By the way, did anybody read down on that clip from a Mytec post? It shows what the size of the payoff can be with Mastercard: $1.5 billion in sales. That's for readers alone, not what goes on the credit card. And it looks like Mastercard is only about 25% of the market. True, it doesn't look like it could happen until 2001, but I thought this was a thread that got excited about $10 million possibilities.

You guys have gotten awfully blase.
