"according to a recent article in a computer rag theres some computer retailers in New York and Wisconsin who have taken Apple off the shelves"

Mac users get most of their hardware and software via mail order. I know plenty of people with Macs, and none of them bought their computers from a retail store. Very few of them have ever bought software from retail, either, though they own plenty of software.

"...don't you techno-geeks understand business?"

Just because someone understands technology better than you do is no reason to fear and deride them. Besides, you and I both know that there are plenty of what you would call "techno-geeks" who do quite well in business. Your resentment is irrelevant to this thread.

"Now, some of you Appleites will be annoyed with this message and your
response will be to kill the messenger."

Maybe other people are annoyed with your message, and want to "kill the messenger" but your posts thus far are such easy targets that we need to look no further for something to shoot at.

"Too bad Ms. Hancock lacks marketing savvy, cuz that's what Apple sorely needs and her lack of it is why IBM canned her."

Ms. Hancock is Chief Technical Officer and in charge of R&D, not marketing. Please provide a reference backing up your claim of why IBM "canned her." You're great at making inflamatory statements, but not too strong on the follow-through.

"the geeks around here all bleat about the great stuff on the horizon... they're kind of like the Captain of a ship who wants to talk about the new compass onboard when the boat's taking on water that's now past the gunwhales...."

That's funny, because when I'm reading your posts I feel more like someone standing in the supermarket checkout line with a basket full of delicious oranges looking at the cover of the "National Enquirer" which sports a story on how space-alien scientists have proven that oranges cause cancer.
