I heard this forecast from a couple of large PC companies citing Q1 looks strong. I dont know why they believe this. Maybe its some hope on their part. I am not reading every piece of info available on this or have access over the holidays on dataquest or IDC as to their outlook. I think the pc companies are referring to corporate buyers, certainly not individuals. I am not all that concerned at this point, but may by Dec 24th next year. Q1 is always slower. The Dell's are pumping out systems in Jan to end their year. Usually Gateway has followthru from Q4 with enough backlog to have a okay qtr in Q1. There are reports the channel is not so stuffed like last year with slower cpus, so CPQ should be okay. IBM is doing better as well. But yes it
has to be slower than Q4. I think Intel is releasing Katmi sometime in Q1 should help a bit for the hi-end sales.
If I find any reports that refer to y2k I will post.
Good trading.
