Maurice, IBD is investor business daily, a daily (weekdays) paper here. Is it available in primitive New Zealand? There were two articles on CDMA/QCOM and how it doesn't work, mainly quotes from TDMA and GSM salesmen who are shaking in their pants now. Same old garbage about how over hyped CDMA is and how QCOM is the number 1 PR firm in the world.

Unfortunately for them, Air Touch just announced that at the Hambrecht & Quist Technology Conference:

"AirTouch plans to begin operating THIS MONTH its cellular communications in the LA market........Gloria Everett, vice president of wireless enginerring and operations, told the conference that AirTouch chose CDMA for about a dozen strategic reasons. Those reasons include that CDMA delivers clearer voice and data transmissions....(things that we CDMA experts already know and will not be repeated here)......AirTouch has retrofitted its LA franchise to be digital from analog and will transmit calls using CDMA.... AirTouch's schedule for the rest of its markets is yet to be determined."

The Reuters article was released at 15:49 (Eastern) time and not a word about QCOM.

Have anyone heard about this? If market behaves properly, tomorrow should be very rewarding for us QCOM faithfuls.

Ramsey
