Right. It's SOOOO EASY!!. If you know what you want and are willing to change your shopping paradigm, it's heaven. Price compare electronically instead of driving from store to store. No lines, no hassles, no traffic.
The journalists (TV/Radio/print news) are picking up on this, big time. "The WEB blows out XMAS, triple/quandruple digit gains in sales volume". They are all reporting how retail stores they've surveyed have mid single digit DECLINES in sales, and how the web is eating into that traditional business. Large stores are talking that much, but smaller merchants are. Large stores are hedged with their own sites, or links to major web names (you know them all....)
You're a good example. Aside from the web stock mania (which can be sometimes like a dream-state of mind....), this holiday season is going to set the mark for the reality of e-commerce. CMGI, Inc. is in the sweetspot.
Watch them study the trends, pick and chose the probable winner, shape the company's, and send them public.
It's tempting to trade a position in this stock, but I'd like to try to hold a small position to see if this really will become a bankable LT cap gain for me.
Have a good holiday. |
