Last week I bit the bullet and connected on line via my local cable company. I was one of those holdouts who never bought cable so I had to take that also. I am paying $39.95/mo for the Family cable, which I have no time to view since I now can move around the Internet at lightening speeds.

Seems that cable modems are really coming on strong (MAINSTREAM), too bad for ADSL. A large number of people that I have talked to have heard about cable modems, unlike ADSL modems that people are clueless to what they are so far. This is a concern. If customers are happy with their Cable modems and tell their friends and it spreads like wild fire, then why would they switch to an ADSL modem that costs more. I guess the key word is ( IF ) they are happy with the Cable modem service,......time will tell if the Cable company's infrastructure can be upgraded fast enough to keep their customers happy. This is a REAL concern.
All in my opinion.
