it would seem that all that had to be done was have a consumer
boycott in sympathy with farmers..boycott pork products for three weeks and let the people who are making the profits get hit..
here are some prices from a cheap supermarket in NY

pig's feet 69 cents a pound
pork sausage 2.59 a pound
rediserve pork patties 2.59
virgtina ham sliced to order 3.99 a pound
plumsrose bacon 1.99 a pound fresh hams lean and tender .99 (oops the distributor must have slipped up unless it is a XMAS special
pork chops 2.99 a pound (boneless center cut(loin)
whereas rump roast 1.79 a pound
veal chops 1.99 a pound
usda choice roast beef button round 1.59 a pound
chicken breast with ribs .99 a pound
grade a turkeys frozen 10 to 20 lbs. .89
again..the consumer doesn't care..and most people I speak to say they don't eat pork anyways..
