Hi Ausdauer,

I am new to this thread. I have just started looking at this stock because of the digital camera potential. I noticed that you guys are discussing mp3 and I have some input about it.

Even though mp3 is not well know by Americans, but they are very popular in China. (I don't know about the rest of the world.) It is just a matter of time before mp3 music arrives to the US in a big way, through legal or ilegal means. Until I ready your post, I didn't realize that someone can make a digital mp3 walkman using FLASH storage. A 60MB flash disk should be sufficient to store a whole CD's music. The potential sales volume for mp3 walkmen is much higher than that of digital cameras. A digital mp3 walkman can be made much smaller than a CD walkman or a Mini Disk. It will not require anti-shock, and a mp3 decoder can be made at a cost of sub-5 dollar. I don't know how much a 60MB FLASH card from Sandisk costs, but if Sandisk can sell it in qauntity for $30 each, then the bill of material for a mp3 disk player should be somewhere around $40. If this can happen, we might be able to see a mp3 player costing $99 at local stores.

I didn't realize that Sandisk had this much potential. I am going to read its SEC report. I will check back later.

And can someone tell me something about what Diamond Multimedia is doing with mp3? I have never followed Diamond Multimedia nor the topic of mp3.

Happy holiday to everyone!
