Some farmers may now be giving their hogs away for free since it is costing them money to keep them..
I know you will write back about your tiny little world and how you also have suffered from ginseng implosion and that you have no sympathy for farmers and that you can bake your own bread and that you are a vegetarian or something like that but
just think it out a bit..we are each a link in the chain..we are all connected whether we like it or not..
the only ones who are making money are the middle men and the supermarkets..the prices of hog prices are artifically high..
I wasted a lot of time typing in the prices from that circular..as a concrete example..
If the consumer boycotted pork products..then supermarkets etc would be forced to reduce prices...and possibly people's whose religion doesn't prevent them from eating pork..would have a buy a lot more..
and help clean up some of the excess..
This isn't just about farmers..it is basically about consumers who have a lot more bargaining power if they do it collectively..not about unions either..(think most unions are just good for the bosses)
