Potato farmers in Wisconsin threw away half their potatoes last year due to low prices. A fifty pound bag from the distributer is $3. You want to help farmers, put a tariff on all food imports.

You boycott pork and the price will drop and the first person to feel the boycott will be the farmer. He'll be even worse off and stop farrowing. The second person to feel the boycott will be the consumer because once the glut is gone it's going to take a year or two to farrow back to full strength. The middle man will gouge both ways.
