>Bill Gates has sold Microsoft stock. Dell has sold some of his stock. I >suspect the same is true for the founders of Intel, Cisco, Compaq, etc. So what!
If I hear this pathetic attempt at justification for Bezo's selling again, I think I'm going to puke.
Here, let me put this in small, concise, clear words.
ALL OF THE COMPANIES YOU MENTIONED WERE PROFITABLE WHEN THEIR CEOs STARTED TO SELL STOCK.
Bill Gates deserves the cash he gets when he sells stock, because his company makes billions in profits a year. The same for Cisco and Intel.
AMAZON HAS NOT EARNED ONE DIME IN PROFIT SINCE IT WAS FOUNDED.
Now, I know for many of you who are new to the market, it may seem as if unprofitable pyramid schemes are How Things Are Done, but let me remind you that in the real business world, the aim is to be profitable. Now you can make an argument that Bezos plan for Amazon from day one was to put cash in his own pocket, irregardless of company profitability- in which case I would have to agree that he has been spectacularly successful. |
