Have you read "Like Water for Chocolate"? I liked the book even more than the movie. Magic Realism does not lend itself to movies. If you like Latin American writers I highly recommend Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Everything he has written is great but my favorite is "One Hundred Years of Solitude." Isabelle Allende's "House of the Spirits" is in the same vein, though not as great. I'm afraid I have not read "The Celestine Prophecies" nor do I intend to. "Yellow Raft on Blue Water," however, is one of the selections of my book group. For May, I think, so I will definitely be reading that. As for Van Damme and Schwarzenegger I am forced to rent all their movies. My husband insists that my movies evaporate the testosterone from his body and only action adventure movies are capable of restoring him. He also watches "Dark Skies", "X-Files" and "Secrets and Stupid things." Alexa
