dr. bob,

forget the tracer idea
women would only do that if
it is foolproof and everything else
is terrible and ineffective

have you ever heard women complain about
the breast compression in mammography?
they hate it!!!!!!!
no, they won't take injection over thermo
everything else being equal

PET scanning as you know is still controversial
(though not as much as thermograms)
and i am not sure if PET scans have or will
be approved in the near future for breast CA
any companies you know of that are using PET for cancer?
mostly i know they are quite useful for brain imaging

i think that in the medium term (1-5 years)
thermograms can have a place like EMG
everyone with a back problem doesn't need one
but when you need it it is the modality of choice

the thing i worry about most is some combo of MRI
and thermograms
as they could provice a 3 dimensional heat scan
that i imagine would blow away coii's flat
one dimensional scan just because it would be DEEPER

by january-february i expect we will have SEC
then by spring they will have wound up the trials
then they need to get by the FDA gauntlet

if they get approval by next summer
they could be first to market witn an alternative
approved by the FDA

a big if, but if it happens watch the price climb!!
optimistic 2-5 next year as a base
pessimistic .10-.25 if they miss FDA

in 2-5 years it is anyone's guess who else is in this space
but i don't expect GE, toshiba, etc. to sit back and let
coii be the only altnernative to mammography

what is your view on the probability of getting through FDA?

have a great weekend

curtis
