Be afraid. Be very afraid. Penni describes the exaltation of outright hypomania. For some people, it isn't exalting. It is the skydive into a sort of Hell - where the mania doesn't stop and it goes sour. I know of four people who have been kicked either into psychosis or deep depression by oral steroids. A friend and I have recently mused about doctors who prescribe this drug - and don't warn patients about the real and very bad side effects. Mentally-wise. Sleeping asthma - what has helped me in the past is washable pillows and blankets - along with one of those barrier undersheets between linens and mattress.
