SEC blows lid off of Reserve accounting, Employee Stock Option Accounting, Selling Puts into open market. bloomberg.com 12/26 U.S. SEC's Push for Accounting Changes Already Having Impact on Companies (I also think there is an overdoing here of looking for a precipitating event to cause a market break. Look at how much bad news has been ignored over recent weeks. It seems to me to be just as likely that the next sell off will be "caused" by a non-event. In other words all the reasons are in place already. Perhaps all it takes is a small child to remind investors that the emperor has no clothes :-))
