1. Anti-internet Gambling Act A Boon For Horse Racing (CHDN)
Thursday, December 24, 1998

The Internet Gambling Prohibition Act passed in the Senate
90 to 10, and the House is expected to pass it early in
1999. The bill will prohibit all gambling on the Internet
except horse race wagering, making conservative investor
Francis X. Curzio even more bullish than ever on Churchill
Downs (CHDN). "The potential here is mind-boggling,"
Curzio says, when coupling live Internet viewing and wagering
with a new National TV racing channel expected to reach over
100 million subscribers beginning this spring.

Another plus for Churchill Downs is Caesars Indiana's new
million Glory of Rome riverboat, the first phase of a
proposed $300 million gambling complex. Curzio predicts over
4 million visitors will visit the facility annually, and he
maintains this will significantly enhance attendance at
Churchill's Indiana subsidiary Hoosier Park. "If only 5%
(200,000) of Caesar's patrons visit the track, revenues will
surge," he says, and notes that Louisville (Kentucky)
Business First reported track attendance was up between 8%
and 13% the week the riverboat opened.

"The stock, down from $44 a share, is a buy," Curzio says.

Report," December 15, 1998, The FXC Newsletter. Francis X.
