What a marvelous blessing the apostles had. Words can't describe the feeling I get when I read the things they actually experienced in the presence of Jesus. Imagine yourself being there and being able to say like John and Peter:
"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth." (John 1:14 NKJV)
"And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain." (2 Pet 1:18 NKJV)
"Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves;" (Mat 17:1 NKJV)
"and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light." (Mat 17:2 NKJV)
"And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him." (Mat 17:3 NKJV)
The most positively shocking and amazing thing to me is that just as Moses and Elijah spoke with Him, so also all those who are in Christ. What a blessing!
