George,

You surprised me with your apparent lack of knowledge of the political landscape in the Northwest Territories. The Premier has nothing to do with this, and probably has his hands full with other issues. He probably would like to see this development proceed and his territory benefit from jobs and contracts. The Government of Canada has jurisdiction over this development. If you know anything about government bureaucracies, then you will know that there were bound to be delays once the process began. Diavik has completed a substantial body of work and are going through a process that will probably result in the permits being issued. Until then, you should focus on the positive and keep your stereotypical comments to yourself-you might surprise yourself to discover how sophisticated, knowledgeable and professional the people are in the north. Cal
